Annalakshmi

Annalakshmi meaning the Hindu Goddess of Food, is also the name of a restaurant located in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Perth, Australia. Their concept is to "eat as you like and pay as you feel." Thats right. You pay your own price and eat as much as you feel. Of course, if you tend to be a cheapskate (no offense) please, save yourselves the trip. More!

VoceLinda

Beautiful and interesting jewelry designs inspired by designer Lindsey Hudek's travels to Europe and the Americas. VocĂȘLinda, meaning "you are beautiful" is the name of the jewelry brand, whose goal is to "reflect the beauty and femininity of each woman who wears it."

Dining in the Dark?

Dans Le Noir? is a restaurant with locations in Paris, London, and Moscow that offers its customers to dine in the dark.
According to Dans Le Noir?,
This restaurant allows you to completely re-evaluate the notion of taste.Without sight, other senses are offered a new sensation and emotions.
Darkness leads to truthfulness about taste, kills preconceptions and let you face the realities of ingredients and cuisine. Our chef elaborates a refined and sensorial cuisine with fresh ingredients to help our senses to enjoy the “truth” taste of food.
Read more about why eating in the dark benefits you!

Juarez Murders

This is a collaboration done by Swoon and Tennessee Jane that is on exhibit at Honey Space in NYC. An attempt to help raise awareness about the Juarez Murders that has been a never ending problem in Juarez.

Thanks to my brother Daniel for giving me the heads up on this. Check out Fecal Face to read more about the story of Silvia Elena and while you're at it get lost on their site--tons of rad stuff!

The New Pornographers

An oldie but goodie! Daniel Bejar is the guy in the video. He is a guest musician on several of the The New Pornographers albums. Daniel Bejar also has his own music project called Destroyer which is a personal favorite of mine.

Next Photoshop to tap GPUs for extra computing power

How exciting!

The latest installment of CS4 will tap into your GPU for the extra power needed for those multy layer designs you're working on. Sure Photoshop looks great on your mac but come October your basic gaming PC will smoke your Mac when it comes to manipulating images. A single GPU will be able to perform similar or outperform an 8 core skulltrail system, not to mention Mac's $6,000++ 8 Core Xeons.

Adobe was working on the project with NVIDIA so there aren't many details as to if there will be any sort of exclusivity with the chipset maker but its doubtfull any advancements would be tied to a specific card maker.

Seems like I now have an excuse to keep upgrading my desktop.

If only I could start getting a few design jobs and file my whole build as a business expense.
