late night doodling

I just got back from a wonderful dinner at BJ's restaurant. As usual, I ordered the field of greens. A fresh pile of romaine (i think), topped with fetta cheese, mandarin slices, & my favorite part– caramelized walnuts. So delicious. And of course I stole a slice of pizza from my company.

Then we headed to watch the much talked about, Shutter Island. && I am still thinking about it. I usually hate when movies let you think what you want, or have your own interpretation. Yet, a part of me enjoys that thinking, because then it encourages discussion. (usually with my sisters, which I always enjoy).

Anyways, should be in bed. Buts for some reason I had the urge to sketch my outfits today. Not because I think I am the next Marc Jacobs, or because I think I am the next Stela Im Hultberg. On the contrary, I am always made fun of by my sisters, who charge me with having horrible fashion sense. (Oh, whatever happened to my fashionista-high school wannabe days). I guess it's like Sagmeister says, "Trying to look good limits my life." Haha.. or maybe I like to make excuses. Anyhow, I am rambling off topic now, apologies to those few of you who actually read this. Sorry if I am boring you with my ranting. With these doodles, I wanted to experiment with a child-like hand. Letting the line be loose and free. Not sure the result was anything close to what I envisioned. I guess it is a start. And a motive to try and get better.
(note to self: watercolor paper usually works best with watercolors)
